An FIR was filed on Wednesday against Indian cricketer Yash Dayal, who plays for RCB. The report, filed at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur, accuses him of raping a young girl there. The case is being handled under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A woman from Ghaziabad has already accused him of abusing her. She claims Yash Dayal was physically and mentally abusive to her over their five-year relationship, based on a false promise of marriage.
SHO of the police station said first she was raped in 2023 when she was 17. The officer added that another incident reportedly took place this year, during the IPL cricket matches, and that Yash Dayal had promised to help the victim with her cricket career.
About Yash Dayal
He is a Fast Bowler in Indian Cricket Team and also a part of RCB in IPL. He is 27 year old.
What is POCSO?
The POCSO Act is a law created to protect children from sexual crimes. It’s designed to keep kids safe from sexual assault, harassment, and pornography. The act also sets up special courts to deal with these specific kinds of cases. The law was updated in 2019 to make punishments for these crimes stricter, hoping to scare off people who might commit them and to make sure children can have a safe and secure childhood.
