Netflix released the trailer of ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ 2 days ago. R. Madhavan is now back as our favorite romantic avatar, but more mature. The movie stars R. Madhavan as Shrirenu Tripathi, a reserved 42-year-old Sanskrit teacher, who bumps into 32-year-old Madhu Bose, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh, looking stunning in her role, showcasing their tangled love story and the
problems caused by Shrirenu’s conservative family.
What makes it interesting?
Filmed in Jamshedpur and Kolkata, adding cultural texture and emotional depth to the story, Shrirenu Tripathi has lived his life quietly with traditional habits and beliefs (‘sab kuchh allow karenge… bas thoda limit me’) and Madhu Bose is an unapologetic, high-spirited woman who is in no mood to shrink according to societal norms and wants ‘Barabari wala Pyar’ (‘par tum kyu decide karoge meri limit’). Let’s see where their paths will go.

R. Madhavan about his weight loss
For this role, Madhavan lost significant weight through a natural diet and fitness plan. As he said, he has no budget to use deaging tools to look young in his films. He also shared that he believes in playing age-appropriate roles rather than trying to look young in his films.
Romantic avatar but different flavor
Maddy this time returned to a romantic role but with a different flavor. In the trailer launch, he said, ‘Shrirenu is one of the most complex characters I’ve played. He’s full of emotion, yet struggles to express it. This isn’t a loud or dramatic film; it’s gentle and deeply affecting.
